Common Questions from our Customers
Generally, this is a personal choice given your circumstances and what you believe to be the primary uses for TeleStik®.
All TeleStik® models are extremely light, thus, this is usually not the deciding factor.
You may want to consider which pick-up heads (adhesive head, magnetic head and/or hook head) come with each model.
Please note that TeleStik® TS3040 and TeleStik® TS3700 offer all available pick-up heads; adhesive, magnet and hooks.
However, if you have a certain type of disability, you may want to take into consideration the diameter of the grip.
TeleStik® AD3000 and TeleStik® MA4000 have a small diameter (1/2”) grip while TeleStik® TS3040 has a larger diameter (1-1/2”) grip.
TeleStik® TS3040 can be adapted (with TeleStrap) for use by quadriplegics.
As previously stated, it is a personal choice and our experience shows that our customers are split down the middle;
50% choose the small grip and 50% choose the large grip.

To operate the traditional trigger-action “jaw” or “claw” reachers, you have to open up the “jaw” to clasp onto the item.
This requires space, sometimes a lot of space. In tighter spaces, this requires a great deal of maneuvering and makes retrieving impossible.
On the other hand, TeleStik® pick-up heads are sleek, small and versatile and can get into the tightest of spots and retrieve the item for you.

When closed or collapsed, TeleStik® models are only 7-8” long and they weigh as little as 2.3 ounces.
TeleStik® is the lightest, smallest and most portable reacher in the World.

To operate every reacher in the marketplace, you must be able to squeeze a trigger or lever to pick up an item.
If you have limited hand strength, it is highly likely you will have a great deal of difficulty using these traditional “trigger–action” reachers.
Not with TeleStik®! TeleStik® requires minimal hand strength to operate; no squeezing or strong gripping required!

TeleStik®
enables you to retrieve items by using one of three pick-up heads; the adhesive head, the magnetic head and the hook head.
All three heads have the capability to pick up items up to one pound.
We recommend that you do not pick up items over one pound as this will put excess strain on the stainless steel telescoping arm.
If the stainless steel arm is lifting in excess of one pound, irreparable damage or breakage could occur.

It is important that you read and understand the instructions for adhesive disk care and use.
If the adhesive disk is not holding the object long enough, it could be that the adhesive disk needs to be cleaned with mild soap and water.
It is important to note that the adhesive head performs best when adhering to the following procedure.
When picking up an item with the adhesive head, if possible, look for a flat surface on the item.
Lay the adhesive head on the flat or flatter surface. Gently press down with mild pressure and hold this pressure on the item for 2 (two) seconds.
Then, gently bring the item towards you. * Please note, the adhesive disk does not perform well if the item you are picking up is wet or damp.
When the adhesive disk loses its tackiness and will no longer stick to objects, remove disk (it is attached with Velcro) and clean with
mild soap and warm water, gently scratching the adhesive surface with your finger nail. Rinse with warm water and let dry.
Re-attach the adhesive disk, pressing down firmly to ensure Velcro has engaged properly.
Always keep the adhesive disk away from sunlight, heat, solvents, oils and oily substances. Avoid skin contact as much as possible.
When not in use, always cover adhesive disk with plastic cover cap.
Always keep the Magnetic head away computer screens, PDA’s, floppy disks, credit cards etc. as the magnet could temporarily or
permanently damage components or erase information.
The magnet may not be able to pick up a heavier metal item due to the lack of ferrous materials in the item being picked up or the item could
weigh more than one pound. Alternatively, it could be the odd shape and/or overall balance of the item.
Please note the high humidity can sometimes effect the magnet’s performance.

The weight of the TeleStik® models range from 2.3 ounces to 5.4 ounces. They are the lightest most portable reachers in the World.
If you have a disability and/or are in a wheelchair and you are concerned you don’t have the shoulder strength to extend the telescoping arm,
you can attach the hook head to a fixed object (ie door handle, cupboard handle) and simply back up. To close or collapse the telescoping arm,
you can push against a fixed object (ie wall, door). Please ensure the telescoping stainless steel arm is extended or closed on a straight plane.
If the stainless steel arm is on an angle or bent when closing or extending, irreparable damage may occur.
